Rescued Florida Panther Kitten Recovers at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo
Biologists from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Conservancy of Southwest Florida discovered a Florida Panther kitten while conducting research in the Florida Panther National Wildlife Refuge. The kitten had a dangerously low body temperature, was non-responsive, and was much too young to be separated from his mother. Because the kitten would have died on his own, they brought him to the Animal Specialty Hospital of Florida in Naples. He is now continuing his recovery at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo.
